Another good movie

Just got done watching World War Z and its a good one. The sound and special effects make the movie. I know most of you probably think its junk but it was entertaining. Back when the CGI started I thought it was fake and not worth my time. Then I saw Transformers. I thought it would be a waste of time, but the CGI and the sound together were amazing. Sometimes I sit and watch just a scene or two of certain movies cause the sound blows me away. I bought a sound system 4 years ago. Dennon amp and Paradigm speakers. I thought it fulfilled what I needed in sound. I used to have Bose and this blows that away. Then this year I added another sub and it made all the difference. One sub sounds great, but two subs sound like more than two. I have one in front on the right of the tv and one behind me next to the couch on the left side of the room. The sound is amazing. There is a scene in "The Island" (Tough Day) that is the best. Great sound and action together.

Anyway, movies and sound are my life.

I worked out today with weights and tried to keep my heart rate up for 1/2 hour. Felt really good when I finished.

Summer is over

This summer has gone by and I think I missed it. We have a pool and probably only been in it 10 times all summer. The previous summer, that we had 40 90 deg days, we were in everyday. Loved it.

The weekend is over as we sit and watch the evening network news. The government possibly will shut down Tuesday. The news loves to scare people. I don't think it will happen. What will probably happen is that the market will drop big time tomorrow morning. I have 3 years to retire and I need nothing but good market gains thill then. What can I say.

I went to the gym today and will try spinning class next week, if it works out in the right time slot. I don't like working out after 7pm. Thats my relax time before getting ready for the next day. Otherwise I will just go for a bike ride after work. Can't wait for next year when I get a new bike.

Saw a movie today called "Side Effects" with Jude Law. Very well done and worth watching. I would like to go this week or next to see "Rush" at the local IMAX theatre. IMAX is the way to watch a movie. Bigger screen and amazing sound.

Much better today

My sleeping has been much better lately. I had nose surgery about 5 weeks ago, sort of a deviated septum thing. Ive always had trouble breathing thru my left nostril. Finally after 58 years, its fixed. Now when I breathe I feel like there is a large hole in my face. So I was told by the Dr. that it would help in my sleeping. And it has. I sleep 6 hours straight thru, get up at 4am and not dead tired like in the past.

I went to test ride the bike I thought I wanted today, and found I want the road bike and not the hybrid. It was an amazing ride. I tried the hybrid first, and liked it. Then for kicks, I tried the road bike, which has a carbon frame,  weighs about 18 lbs, and I wanted to take it home today. But can't. Too many expenses right now. Just bought plates for the cars, 400 dollars, then a tax bill we didn't know we had from 2010. Another 400 dollars. Then we are going away for our anniversary in 2 weeks, about 1000 dollars. So like I said, not a good time. Probably a good birthday present next year in February.

Sitting here watching the news, and listening to the neighbor kids playing outside. Working tomorrow and then Sunday off. Hope to start working out and yoga next week.

Not a great Frigin day

Started out early as usual. 4am. Get up, brush teeth, go in hot tub for 20 minutes, dress and go to work. I had a job today that was not difficult, just took me all day (8 hours) to do. Not my best day. Then go home, feed the dog, start the oven for dinner, go to get my shot (allergy), and come home and wait for Lorna so we can have dinner.

For some reason there is tension when she gets home, not sure what it was. Me or her. We have dinner, sit down to talk and get in an argument. I leave to watch a movie in the living room, finish the movie, and come back to watch the news. Nothing is said about the disagreement. I hate that. I like to get it out and clear the air. Just me.

I didn't go for a bike ride, wanted to go to yoga but didn't. Sat around and watched a movie. Good one. "Broken City" with Mark Wahlberg.

I need to start working out again and go to yoga. Makes me feel better. Looking forward to that new bike.

And retiring........in three years.

Maybe better tomorrow.

New to this Blog thing

I've never been much of a reader, as well as a writer, but I thought I'd try something new. Today is a new day, actually the end of the day. Work was good, life is good, so I will try to keep it interesting.

I went to see "Prisoners" today, a really good suspense movie. Hugh Jackman is getting better all the time. Probably going to see "Don Jon" this weekend. I really like movies and try to see as many as I can. I have an amazing sound system in my living room, kinda shakes the floor and my wife, Lorna, says she can hear it in the other end of the house. Just saw the Arnold movie "The Last Stand". Not much for plot but really good action and sound.

I'm also into cycling. I had a road bike, Trek, for a while, then sold it after being buzzed too many times on the road. People driving don't respect the cyclist. Then bought a hybrid, Trek, and they also passed a law in Fort Wayne, Indiana, that drivers passing bikes have to leave three feet between them and the bike. I noticed most people are abiding by this amazingly. Well, again, I'm interested in a road bike, but am going more for a cross between a hybrid and road bike. I've found a Scott Metrix with a carbon fork that I'm really interested in. Probably pick it up next year. Around 800 dollars.

Well, this was fun. Almost therapeutic. I will be back tomorrow to write something that is interesting that day. Could be anything.
